i woke up this morning i suddenly realized we're all in this together i started smiling cause you were smiling and we're all in this together i'm made of atoms you're made of atoms and we're all in this together. and long division just doesn't matter cause we're all in this together

you shall not bear false witness against your neighbo

yes we often forget that “do not lie” is one of the big ten.

working with kids just gives me a better perspective on the world and its brokenness. its silly that way. we can argue whether people are inherently good or evil, but i think kids pretty much answer this argument. wanting to gain approval from one another we often lie about the simplest things or even big things. today i asked one of the kids if they had drawn on their cousin’s arm they shook their head even though i had clearly seen this act of graffiti a few minutes prior. they did not choose to be “evil”. they were just wired that way. they didn’t want to get in trouble and sometimes doing “bad” things is just more fun that way. why do i lie? to avoid arguments, to gain approval from people, to make people feel better, because i’m ashamed to share my actual thoughts/answers. so when we lie to each other who does that help? our creator knows the truth. he is truth. we are only hurting ourselves and breaking down the trust established in a relationship. trust that is not easily rebuilt. when someone lies to me i feel so betrayed. how is it that i do this to a god who loves me so much everyday?
